PURPOSE:To make a rotary control valve smaller and smooth the steering feeling of a vehicle by a structure wherein the valve rotor of the rotary control valve is formed onto an input shaft and a valve sleeve, which is loosely fitted onto the outer periphery of the valve rotor, is loosely fitted in the inside diameter of the inner race of the angular contact bearing of a worm shaft. CONSTITUTION:The rotary control valve consists of the valve rotor 16, which is formed onto the input shaft 15, and the valve sleeve 20, which is rotatably and loosely fitted onto the outer periphery of the valve rotor and made of the material different from that of the worm shaft 10. One end of the worm shaft 10, which is formed as the inner race 27 at the valve housing 2 side, is supported through the angular contact bearing 12 by the valve housing 2 and the other end of the worm shaft 10 is supported through a thrust needle roller bearing 13 by the preload adjusting cover 3 of a casing main body 1. Furthermore, said valve sleeve 20 is loosely fitted in the inside diameter of the inner race 27 of the worm shaft 10. Accordingly, no direct transmission of the influence of axial load from the worm shaft 10 to the rotary control valve occurs and said load is accepted by both the bearings 12 and 13. |
