PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the heat accumulating capacity of the titled heat accumulating material by a method wherein sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is added as a thickening agent to an eutectic of hydrated salt of sodium sulfate 10 and sodium chloride to thereby produce the heat accumulating material used for cooling and heating. CONSTITUTION:One example of the method of producing the heat accumulating material is as follows: Sodium oleate is dissolved in a required quantity of water, the solution is added with Na2B4O7.10H2O and then added with carboxymethyl cellulose to thereby gelatinize the solution. Further, the gelatinized solution is added with a mixture of Na2SO4 and NaCl at a temperature above the melting point of the eutectic to produce the heat accumulating material 3. Thus, since the material is gelatinized with carboxymethyl cellulose, it becomes less deteriorated. In this case, when more than 0.05% by weight of at least one of lithium oleate, sodium oleate and potassium oleate is added to the material, it is possible to further reduce the degree of deterioration of the material. |
