The aerial structure comprises a slot, pref. a full-wave slot, a cavity behind the slot, and in front of the slot a funnel-shaped aperture. In the slot is a feed device. The structure is two-part, with the respective slots having longitudinal axes running parallel to each other, and inclined to the two funnel-shaped aperture planes. The aerial component lobe for a specific direction between the aperture planes is determined by the phase position of the signals fed to the parts of such components, where the feed involves two phase rotators and two hybrids. The constituents of the aerial are arranged in rows and columns in a flat matrix, and their control data programme provides for the adjustment of each of them. They are separated by quarter wave pockets to reduce the possibility of interconnection. (Provisional Basic advised week 84/46) |
