1296582 Net-making ISERE-NORD 30 Oct 1970 [5 Nov 1969] 51806/70 Heading D1C A net making machine in which thread is wound onto two rotatable helically grooved cylinders and to which longitudinal threads are subsequently adhered, includes means for sensing a predetermined winding condition and thereafter advancing the cylinders. The thread 36 is wound by a guide arm 34 attached to an endless belt 20, or a tubular arm rotating in a circle. The thread is laid into the helical grooves of cylinders 41, only one of which is shown, at each end of its traverse. A light reflecting area 20a of the belt is sensed by photo-cells 80, 82 which actuate clutches 84, 86 to advance the cylinders one revolution. In an alternative embodiment the thread is detected as it is laid into the initial turn of the helix. The arrangement ensures that single turns of thread are reliably placed in each turn of the helix. The cylinders are driven from a motor 32 via the clutches and pinions 56, 52. The latter are helically grooved, and the bearings 44, 45 horizontally cut to ensure progression of the yarn. To ensure the stability of the sheet selvedge yarns are fed through the cylinders, which are hollow.
|
