PURPOSE:To effect an insulation treatment excellent in electrical characteristics, by hardening an impregnated thermosetting resin while preventing the same from flowing out from an insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:With resin injection ports closed with adhesive tapes 3a, 3b, an electric coil 1 having an insulating layer 2 previously formed is dipped in a photo-setting resin 5 filled in a dipping vessel 4. The photo-setting resin 5 is preferably one having such a viscosity of 10-100 poises that the photo-setting resin 5 will not permeate through to the inside of the insulating layer 2. Then, the electric coil 1 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays by means of an ultraviolet lamp 6 for making the photo-setting resin 5 take part in a photopolymerization crosslinking reaction to form a three-dimensional net-like structure. Then, the adhesive tapes 3a, 3b attached to the electric coil 1 are removed to open the resin injection ports 7a, 7b. The electric coil 1 is placed in an impregnating vessel 8, which is then housed in a vacuum vessel 9. The vacuum vessel 9 is evacuated by means of a pumping device 11. Simultaneously, a thermosetting resin 13 is filled in the impregnating vessel 8, thereby allowing the electric coil 1 to be impregnated under a vacuum. The impregnating resin is preferably one in the same family as the photo- setting resin 5. Then, the electric coil 1 is placed in a thermostatic chamber 15, and the thermosetting resin 13 is hardened by heating in the thermostatic chamber 15. |
