PURPOSE:To obtain a dot type typewriter capable of printing special letters under a legible condition without the need to alter the sizes of special letters by a method in which special marks are printed by relatively moving a paper and a printing head and then the printing head is restored to its original position. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the operation of a letter key 2, a special mark key 3 is pushed, whereupon a paper sending step motor 6 is driven by a control circuit 17 and a printing paper 5 is sent out with 2-dot width toward the orthogonal direction to the printing line. By a letter generation circuit 18, pattern data stored are outputted to the printing head 13, printing wires 11a-11g are selectively driven, and special mark is printed. After the ending of the printing, by the control circuit 17, the printing paper 5 is sent out with 2-dot width oppositely to said operation and the printing head 13 is restored to the place before the special mark print. Subsequently, printing is made corresponding to the letter key 2 to be operated continuously. |
