PURPOSE:To dissolve the initial loss stroke to reduce the force of a lever operating a brake, by moving the biting position between a fixed member and teeth of the lever in accordance with the turning of the lever in a paking brake device for car or the like. CONSTITUTION:The base end part of a fixed member 14 is fixed to the lower face of a floor panel 10, and many continuous teeth 14a are provided on the outside circumference of the tip of the member 14. An operating lever 17 having a grip 18 at the tip has many teeth 17a in the base end part. When the lever 17 is turned upward from the nonoperation position by the grip 18, the biting position between teeth 17a and 14a is moved from a position A to a position B. In this case, the lever 17 is turned at a small angle within an initial turn angle range to dissolve the loss stroke of a wire 19. When the biting position is moved to the position B, the lever ratio is increased, and thus, the lever 17 is turned with a small force to generate a large force in the operating end of the lever. |
