The arrangement for transmitting an alternating-voltage signal with low power dissipation by means of an optocoupler is characterised in that the charge of a capacitor (5) which is charged up by the signal voltage is connected in the form of a short pulse of high current intensity to the light-emitting diode (11) of an optocoupler via a programmable unijunction transistor (10) which is fired at a specific capacitor voltage, as a result of which it is possible to achieve a very low power dissipation of the overall arrangement.
