1,179,538. Electromagnetic counters. H. MULLER, and S. MULLER, [trading as J. HENGSTLER K.G. ZAHLERFABRIK]. 4 June, 1968 [5 June, 1967], No. 26605/68. Heading G4D. A reversible electromagnetic drive for a counter wheel 11 comprises a pair of solenoids 4, 5 and a pivotally mounted escapement 9 biased to a centralized position. Assuming that solenoid 4 is energized, then armature 8 is pulled to the left, rocking the escapement 9 anti-clockwise about its pivot 18 through a pin- and-slot connection 10. A drive cam 13 engages a pin 14 on the counter-wheel 11 to advance it half a step. Release of the solenoid allows the escapement to return under the action of spring 17, a second drive cam 12. engaging the next pin 14 to advance the wheel a further half-step and hold it in its new. position. The solenoid 5 acts in like manner to drive the wheel in the opposite direction. Transfer is effected by closing a contact. |
