The invention relates to a gripper-shaped tool which consists of a plurality of bar-shaped levers which are connected by hinge-like joints and each have receptacles at their ends for the fastening of tool inserts corresponding to the respective type of work. The levers reduce the large number of tools required and at the same time permit better adaptation of the tools as well as actuation by push and pull. The requisite force is now obtained by a cylinder which is fastened to the levers and the piston of which is acted upon by a medium under pressure. This tool is used wherever material is changed directly or indirectly in its external form by manual actuation. The claims derived from these embodiments are essentially identical to the application and are illustrated in the drawing. The drawing shows the levers (2), connected by a hinge-like joint (1), and the receptacles for the tool inserts (3).
