PURPOSE:To absorb effectively impact energy to ensure uniform and smooth transmission of power in power transmitting gears by providing a groove in each tooth widthwise and radially from the tooth top toward the tooth bottom. CONSTITUTION:Starter gears 7, 26 are provided respectively with grooves 28, 29. Thus, since only (a) portion is subjected to flexion having no effect on (b) portion in the rotational direction of arrow, problems of tooth interference are not encountered, so that impact energy can be effectively absorbed and uniform and smooth transmission of power can be ensured while impact sound of tooth faces can be prevented and tooth strength improved. Also, since lubricating oil is left in the grooves 28, 29, engaging portions can be sufficiently lubricated to suppress the wear of the respective teeth 7a, 26a for improving the durability of the gears 7, 26. |
