PURPOSE:To stabilize a casting temp and a charging speed and to make the quality of ingots uniform by dividing all the strands of a continuous casting machine for multiple strands to plural blocks, disposing tundishes to each of the blocks and providing an intermediate vessel between a casting pan and the whole tundishes. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a continuous casting machine for 8 strands, the 8 strands are divided to two blocks each consisting of the four strands 3. Each one unit of tundish 2 is disposed to each block and an intermediate vessel 7 is provided between one casting pan 1 and the whole tundishes 2, 2. The molten metal 8 in the pan 1 is once received in the vessel 7, from which the molten metal is charged into the whole tundishes 2, 2, and from the tundishes 2, 2, the molten metal is charged dividedly through nozzles 2a into the respective strands 3 groups. |
