PURPOSE:To provide a subject printer which can perform an output recording with a high graduation through combination of a conventional graduation reproducing means, by constituting the printer such that the number of needleform electrodes applying a voltage in order to fly ink can be changed corresponding to a graduation of a picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of needleform electrodes 10a, 10a', and 10a'' is positioned facing and opposite to a nozzle 8, and is connected to a switching circuit 11. In case a low density is demanded, an electric field is caused to emanate at only the approximately central part of the nozzle 8 by applying a voltage to only the electrode 10a' to fly a small ink liquid drop 12a. In case a high density is demanded, an electric field is produced at the total area of the opening of the nozzle 8 by applying a voltage to all the electrodes 10a, 10a', and 10a'', and this causes flying of a large ink liquid drop 12b. |
