PURPOSE:To realize the rewriting after heating and erasing the recording bit if necessary, by forming an optical recording layer containing the polyamide and the light absorbing dyestuff or pigment on a substrate and then irradiating the recording light on the recording layer to perform the writing in lefting the polyamide and the light absorbing dyestuff or pigment at the bottom of the recording bit. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer contains the 0.002-10pts.wt. dyestuff, carbon black or lake pigment which has a large light absorption factor to the recording light and 1pts.wt. polyamide having <=30,000 molecular weight (such as a copolymer in numerical mean of homonylon like nylon 6, nylon 66, etc., nylon 6/66/10, etc.). Such recording layer is formed on a substrate. Then the laser light is irradiated to such recording medium to fuse and soften the recording layer. Thus a recording bit is formed with a layer containing the polyamide and the light absorbing dyestuff or pigment left at the bottom of the recording bit. Then the writing is performed. The information can be erased and then written again by heating and flattening the recording bit. |
