PURPOSE:To provide a stable corrosion inhibitor made of salt of specified tatra- or pentacarboxylic acid and having low toxicity and superior corrosion inhibiting power. CONSTITUTION:The titled corrosion inhibitor is made of salt of tetra- or pentacarboxylic acid represented by formulaI(where each of n and n' is 4-10, X is H or COOZ, each Z is H, lower alkyl, alkali metal or ammonium ion, and at least 3 of Zs are alkali metal or ammonium ion). The inhibitor has low toxicity and high stability, and it shows superior corrosion inhibiting power to metals such as mild iron, steel, Al and brass. |
