PURPOSE:To enhance the rate of operation of a rolling mill, by supplying a blank reel to winding machine by upper rails during the time rolled metal wire is conveyed from the winding machine to an unwinding machine by a ground trunck, thereby eliminating the idle time of the rolled wire winding. CONSTITUTION:The metal wire is rolled by the rolling mill 1 and wound around a substantial winding reel 3 by a first winding machine 4. After the winding, the reel is conveyed to the unwinding machine 16 at a down stream position. Then, the metal coil around the reel which is brought to the unwinding machine 16, is wound around a rewinding machine 17. The diameter of the reel is reduced, and the coil is removed from the reel. While the reel is conveyed from the winding machine 4 to the unwinding machine 16, another blank reel 3 is grasped by an arm 13 which is attached to a truck 12 on a supporting body 9 and lifted up. The truck is moved to the direction of the rolling mill 1 on the rails 10, and the blank reel 3 is conveyed to the upper part of the winding machine 4. The blank reel 3 is lowered to the winding machine 4 and set. Then the winding of the rolled metal wire is started. |
