<p>Polyester staple fibre tows e.g. of 3 den. having some 10% of the fibres 50 mm long whilst the bulk are 38 mm long, are drawn into a uniform untwisted yarn by passing the tow through two drawing stages and a subsequent stage in which the two is fully supported without tension before the tow is wound into an untwisted yarn. Stages may be formed by rollers or endless bands or a combination of both.</p> |
