<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible piezoelectric ceramic sheet with a thickness of about 20-30mum by a method wherein the fused liquid of a dielectric is rapidly cooled and settled in an electric field by a pair of rollers applied a voltage. CONSTITUTION:A sintered body of LiNbO3 is made by using Li2CO3 with purity of 99.9% and 48.6% mol and Nb2O5 with 51.4% mol and the sintered body is put in a Pt crucible 11 applied nozzle process to the tip and high-frequency heating is applied to the sintered body for melting by a coil 12 provided around the crucible. Next, the pressure of Ar gas 13 is applied to the upper part of the crucible 11 and a fused liquid 16 is discharged between paired rollers 14 and 15 having sufficient heat capacity and a gap of 50-100mum and a voltage of 0.5- 10kV/cm is simultaneously applied across the grounded roller 15 and the faced roller 14 for rapid cooling and solidification. In this way, a thin belt 17 with a thickness of about 50mum, a width of about 25mm., and a length of about 4cm is obtained. After that, Cr and Au serving as electrodes are evaporated on both faces of the thin belt 17 and the thin belt 17 is cut to form a 25mm.-square piezoelectric body.</p> |
