[Also in Division H2] A method of making a stator for a dynamoelectric machine, wherein the stator comprises a yoke 1 in which are located T-shaped polepieces 3 joined solely together by pins 7, comprises pressing or shrinking a stack of core laminations 2 into a stack of yoke laminations and thereafter, with the pins in position, machining the bore of the stator until the polepieces are joined only by the pins. The core laminations 2 are stamped out of the yoke laminations 1 and the T-shaped parts 3 are joined at 8, pin-receiving recesses 4 also being provided. The stack of laminations held together by the pins 7 and provided with coils 6 is pressed into the stack of yoke laminations 1, the parts 3 entering into recesses 5. The stator bore is then machined to size, a small quantity of metal being removed from the pins 7 in the process. |
