Anode arrangement, used for the cathodic protection of the inner surface of long rising pipes, consists of an electrically conducting core the outer surface of which is covered with an insulating material, with a number of anode pegs comprising a head and a body disposed at intervals along the core. The heads are exposed outside the insulating layer and the bodies pass through the insulation and in contact with the core. Additionally a porous outer shroud is provided for covering the core and anode pegs, the heads being exposed to contact with the electrolyte which penetrates the porous shroud. Pref. the pegs are made from Ti, Ta, or Nb, the heads being Pt plated. |
