PURPOSE:To secure a small, thinned cell can being excellent in charging efficiency, by removing an insulating packing, while forming a shell part housing a cell reaction substance with an insulator and hermetically sealing both top and bottom opening parts of the insulating part with conductive covers. CONSTITUTION:Welding a bottom cover 11 and a rim frame body 13 to a shell 10, a housing part for a cell reaction substance is produced and the reaction substance, or rather an anodic flux, a separator and a cathodic flux are charged into said housing part and then an upper cover 12 is connected to the rim frame body 13 by means of laser welding whereby such a cell that is excellent in insulating airtightness is thus completed. Therefore, in this shell 10, the conventional packing is eliminated and covers 11 and 12 blocking up both top and bottom openings of it are turned to electrodes each. As a result, the upper cover part and the bottom cover 11 comprising these electrodes will not bite into the shell body at all, so that charging efficiency is very good and, what is more, there is no unevenness in appearance, permitting ease of flat structure in design. |
