PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having high sensitivity and high durability, by providing a layer contg. a specified bisazo pigment on a conductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A bisazo pigment having general formulaIis finely pulverized, when needed, dispersed into a binder soln., coated on an adhesive layer formed on a conductive layer, and dried to form an intended electrophotographic receptor. In formulaI, X1, X2 are H, H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, nitro, or hydroxy; Cp is formulae II, III, or IV; Z is an atomic group necessary to form an aromatic hydrocarbon or hetero ring; R1 is H or alkyl; R2 is alkyl; R3, R4 are alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl. The bisazo pigment of formulaIis obtained by diazotizing 1-(4-aminostyryl)pyrene having formula V, and coupling a corresponding coupler with it in presence of alkali, and this is embodied in a compd. of formula VI, etc. |
