PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor having high sensitivity to visible and near IRlong wavelength light, by treating the surface of zinc oxide in a soln. of phthalic anhydride, allowing a basic sensitizing dye to be adsorbed into the zinc oxide, and coating this composition on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:0.02-0.5pt.wt. Phthalic anhydride is dissolved in 80-150pts.wt. org. solvent such as methanol or toluene. To this solution 100pts.wt. zinc oxide is added, and the mixture is kneaded with a homogenizer or the like to subject the zinc oxide to surface treatment. Then, 0.01-0.16pt.wt. basic sensitizing dye, such as methylene blue or ''Basic Blue '' is added to be adsorbed to the surface of the zinc oxide particles. The obtained composition is coated on a conductive substrate to form a photoconductive layer, thus permitting an intended electrophotographic receptor to be obtained. |
