Laminated welded pipe production process

High pressure pipes will laminated walls are produced by forming a metal strip longitudinally round an open joint inner tube. This is followed by welding together of the outer tube, drawing it down so as to fit on tightly over the inner tube, the process being repeated several times. Pref. the longitudinal seams of successive tubes formed are offset angularly relative to each other. This method is considerably cheaper than the coiling method of generating laminated tubing.
