The intake pipe which is cast in a steel casting mould and is made from light alloy or thermally resistant plastic, according to the application has curved outer intake ducts and preferably rectilinear internal intake ducts. In order to permit the withdrawal of all cores in the casting mould, the axes of the circular arcs are pivoted about a resulting angle and in addition the one circular arc is greater than the other. Alternatively the intake pipe can be manufactured without a suction pipe and either incorporated as suction pipe into the carburettor or inserted as a component into the intake pipe.
