PURPOSE:To prepare a composite separation membrane having an extremely large permeation area per a unit volume, by a method wherein an ultra-thin membrane is homogenously prepared from high molecular components and at least one component in the resulting membrane substrate is removed from a surface opposed to the high molecular components. CONSTITUTION:In order to obtain a non-porous membrane substrate prepared by molding a uniform mixture consisting of a removing component and a non-removing component, a comman solvent having high compatibility with both of them is used. The non-porous surface of the substrate, that is, the surface opposed to a surface having highly selectively separation permeability to a specific substance is contacted with, for example, water to extract and remove polyethylene glycol or polyvinyl pyrrolidone. By this way, a hollow yarn composite separation membrane comprising a high molecular ultra-thin membrane formed on one surface of the porous hollow yarn substrate is obtained. The ratio of the total non-removing residual component and the total removing component is pref. 100:25-100:200. As the residual component, a wide-ranging high molecular substance such as PVA or aromatic polysulfone is used. |
