PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive diazo film free from ground discoloration and fading and easy to manufacture by using chitosan with a specified mol.wt. as the principal component of the binder of a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive diazo layer using a binder contg. chitosan with 10,000-40,000mol.wt. as the principal component is formed on a transparent film of polyester, acetate resin or nitrocellulose or a film of synthetic paper of such resin as a support optionally after laying a precoat layer on the support. By chelating the chitosan with Mg(II), Al (III), Zn(II) or the like, the shelf stability is enhanced. Cellulose ester, etc. may be added to the binder, yet chitosan is required to occupy >=50wt% of the binder. The resulting photosensitive diazo film can be developed by any of dry, semidry and wet methods. |
