PURPOSE:To check whether the titled device is normally operated or not by arranging bottom walls for reflecting check signals in front of a piezo-electric element at prescribed intervals. CONSTITUTION:An output pulse from an oscillator 8 is amplified by an amplifier 6 and applied between an electrode plate 3a and an intermediate bottom wall 2a through a core 4b and a metallic sheath 4a. A piezo-electric element 3 is electrically distorted, an intermediate bottom wall 2a is oscillated and an ultrasonic wave is irradiated reflected by the inner surface of the lower bottom wall 2b and penetrated into the intermediate bottom wall 2a. Signals generated on both the ends of the piezo-electric element 3 are inputted to a signal analyzer 9 through preamplifier 7. In case of normal operation, a reflected wave with a prescribed strength is received after a prescribed time from the projection of the output pulse and checked by the signal analyzer 9, so that whether the reflected wave is normal or not can be diagnosed. In case of using said device normally, an ultrasonic signal from an sound source P is transmitted to the intermediate bottom wall 2a through a hole 2C. |
