PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrophotographic photosensitive body having no uneven part, nor projection, etc., by washing the surface of a conductive supporting body by air bubbles forcibly generated in water or a solution, and after that, vapor-depositing Se or an Se alloy layer. CONSTITUTION:A drum-like Al conductive supporting body 1 is subjected to specular working so that roughness of the surface becomes <= about 0.5mum, and after that, ''Perchlene '' washing is performed in both a hot bath and a vapor bath, also alkali etching is performed at a temperature of about 70 deg.C for 30sec or so, in a solution of about 3.0wt% Na3PO4, and after that, rinsing, neutralization and rinsing are performed. This treated supporting body 1 is soaked into a hot water washing tank consisting of an outside tank 3 and an inside tank 4, into which hot water of about 10<6>OMEGA.cm specific resistance and about 80 deg.C temperature has been put, air bubbles are generated by leading in N2 gas of an N2 gas cylinder 5 through a gas inlet 2 by about 2.5kg/cm<2> gas pressure, and washing is performed about 5min. The supporting body 1 to which said pre- treatment has performed is dried, and after that, a photosensitive layer is formed by vapor-depositing an As2Se3 alloy. |
