In this method, an earth magnetic field sensor is allocated to the missile for indicating normal alignment with respect to the ground and an amplifier for continuously calculating the roll attitude under the influence of variable azimuth and elevation angles and the sensor is a coil with an electronic evaluating unit or a linear signal transmitter with a magnetic pick-up element.
