During a pivoting of the load-receiving device of a lifting and transport truck for warp beams, cloth beams or the like for supplying weaving machines, knitting machines or the like out of the transport position, a dangerous tilting moment occurs and is absorbed by jibs. According to the invention, there are proposed hydraulically, semi-hydraulically or mechanically working locking devices, by means of which the jibs are positively extended or pivoted out, before a dangerous shift of the centre of gravity occurs as a result of the pivoting out of the load arm. Furthermore, an automatically acting device for lowering the track wheels arranged on a lifting and transport truck of this type is proposed.
