The application relates to an electrical power generating installation, having a shaft generator on each shaft, which is driven by a main ship's drive and has a variable-pitch propeller which is regulated at a constant rotation speed and, in parallel operation with an on-board electrical power supply generator for supplying an on-board electrical power supply busbar, is regulated at a constant phase angle, common real-load regulation being provided in parallel operation. According to the invention, in each case one electronic power circuit breaker (13, 13') having a parallel inductance (14, 14') is arranged in at least two phases between the shaft generator (4, 4') and the on-board electrical power supply busbar (8), which power circuit breaker (13, 13') briefly takes over the power of the disturbed shaft generator in the event of the converter being triggered by connection of the inductance (14, 14') to the disturbed shaft generator and/or to the on-board power supply generator (11), which defective shaft generator is synchronised to the on-board electrical power supply voltage, by bridging the inductance, after reaching the same phase angle again. <IMAGE>
