摘要 PURPOSE:To exactly execute separation from the surface of a drum tip part of a transfer material, and also to eliminate a retransfer (transfer failure), by controlling a destaticizing corona current without turning on and off a corona generating electric power supply or switching an applied voltage. CONSTITUTION:To an electric discharge wire 32, prescribed voltage is applied by a constant-voltage transformer or a constant-current transformer simultaneously with a copying operation. In this case, when a lamp 34 is in a turned-off state, a photoconductive body layer 33 of the inside surface of a destaticizer shield 31 operates as an insulator layer, as a result, most of corona ions from the wire 32 flow in the direction of a drum 1. On the other hand, in case of a state that the lamp 34 is turned on and light is irradiated to the photoconductive body layer 33, the layer 33 becomes conductive and operates as an electric conductor, and as a result, most of corona ions from the wire 32 flow to the shield 31 side. That is to say, by controlling turn-on and turn-off of the lamp 34 when the destaticizer 3 is operated, in accordance with said control, the quantity of a corona ion, that is to say, the quantity of a current in the direction of the drum 1 can be switched and controlled easily as to its magnitude, without controlling the applied voltage to the electric discharge wire 32.
