1,272,272. Supplying toner to electrographic apparatus. EASTMAN KODAK CO. May 1, 1969 [May 1, 1968], No.22244/69. Heading G2H. A toner container 5, Fig. 1, fits in a cover 1 having an open end 2 and an open portion 4 of a wall 3. The container 5 has an openable top 8, e.g., of paper. A flexible lining 6, Fig.3, is attached to a shaft 11, such that rotation of the shaft 11 opens the container. The container 5 is placed in the cover 1 before insertion in an electrographic machine provided with a receiving member 13. A disc 14 engages a groove 7 in the container to advance the container on sliding actuation of a shaft 15. Rotation of the shaft 11 opens the top of the container by breaking a paper seal, Fig .2 (not shown) or by pulling the extension 28, Fig.3, of the lining 6. Toner is then fed by blades 27 on a belt 26 into a reservoir 24. A drive member 23 may be turned in response to an optically sensed reduction of toner in the reservoir. |
