Cylindrical furnace containing an after-combustion room (10) and afterburner (12) designed as extensions of each other, as well as a number of parallel smoke pipes for the afterburning chamber (15) constructed as one in relation to the common mantel plate (18) for the combustion room and afterburning chamber. A first water chamber (20) is built through a tubular liner (19) in the mantel plate, and a second water chamber (23) is formed using a pipe body connecting the mantel plate's afterburning chamber. The tubular liner and pipe body extend past each other, and the two water chambers (20, 23) communicate with each other through openings (28) in the mantle plate (18), inside the area where the attachments (19, 24) overlap. In order to increase the heat absorption within the first water chamber (20) the smoke pipes (15) are fitted with liners (31) in the form of screw shaped wound metal strips, where the rise changes from the inlet end to the outlet end, so that the gas speed is essentially unchanged.<IMAGE> |
