The invention is intended to allow easy opening of containers of any size and any content by single-handed operation, for example by the pressure of two fingers. The container, bag or the like consists of a sturdy ring of any material and various shapes. It is widened at the top in such a way that an opening is produced, in which a small collapsible plate fits. The latter is connected at its ends to the outside cover of the container in such a way that, when the small plate is collapsed, the container cover of any material is drawn upwards over the ring in such a way that it tears open at the bottom and exposes the contents. The tearing-open of the cover is facilitated by a suitable connection. The cover can be pulled apart even without the small collapsible plate and without widening the ring at the top. <IMAGE>
