PURPOSE:To prevent stripping and dislodging of shapeless refractories from the worn wall surface of a blast furnace by allowing a tubular leading end part fitted onto a tip of a guiding bar body which is inserted through the opening of the steel shell of the worn part of the furnace wall to open like petals of a flower and holding it in the furnace then charging the shapeless refracotories. CONSTITUTION:The shell 1 for the worn part of the furnace wall is opened 4. If refractories 2 remain and there is a refractory wall 20, these are opened as well. A guiding bar body 5 is inserted into the furnace, and an outward bending tip 6 at the leading end thereof is held at the prescribed depth in the furnace by means of a supporting stand 7 or the like. A tubular body 8 provided with an arbitrary number axial slits 9 in the leading end part is fitted onto the body 5. When said body is forced into the furnace by means of a cylinder device 10 or the like, the body 8 is bent outward from the tips thereof and is opened like petals. Thereafter, shapeless refractories 12 supplied through a pressure feeding hose 14 connected to a mouthpiece 13 attached to the opening 4 are charged through the clearances 11 between the body 8 and the opening 4. The refractories 12 are maintained satisfactorily by the stud functions provided by the tip parts of the body 8. |
