A sectional soft rubber strip 3, having a thermoplastics filament as a core 1, which in use participates in temperature induced variations in the length of a window frame. The core ends abut one another in mitre joints 28 and, in the assembly of a window frame, are welded together simultaneously with the frame side members so that the resulting window frame periphery is a closed sectional strip. For improved positive engagement with the sectional strips 3, the plastics cores 1 have portions 6, 7 of different thickness along their lengths. An extrusion process to produce such a plastics core is also described. <IMAGE> |
