PURPOSE:To provide automatic replacement of tools in the type of screw coupling, by such a construction that the holder for a tool magazine is rotated and, at the same time, advanced or retracted to/from the spindle. CONSTITUTION:The tool magazine 54 is rotatable round a supporting cylinder 52 fixed to the base 51 in such an arrangement that any desired tool can be indexed out through a gearing driven by a motor 57. When the desired holder 59 is indexed out under the spindle 27, a cylinder 73 is advanced to drive the spline shaft forward through the mounting table 72. Then the foremost part of this spline shaft 65 heaves the holder 59, which rises up to a position for grasping the tool 30. When the apline shaft 65 is then rotated by a motor 68 through a gearing, projections 65A, 63A are put in engagement to rotate the holder 58, and further the engagement of the projections 30A, 59A rotates the tool 30 for removal from the spindle 27. Tool can be set by reversing the revolutional direction of the spline shaft 65. |
