PURPOSE:To perform the boring and the smoothing simultaneously by assembling the boring edge and the smoothing edge to single tool body. CONSTITUTION:When the holder 1 is lowered while rotating to contact with the work 2, the work 2 is bored by means of the boring edges 3, 4. When the holder 1 is further lowered while rotating under this state, the horizontal slide driver 6 to be engaged with the pinion 9 through the rack 8 will move to the right thus to project the smoothing edges 16, 17 gradually in the radial direction of the tool. In other word the smoothing edges 16, 17 will move obliquely to the lower right direction against the work 2 thereby the coarse portion of the bored work will be cut smoothly. |
