PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from starting caused by misfunction of ECU by sending clutch operating signals to ECU side to generate starting signals of a starter and inserting clutch upper and lower switches in series into a starter relay drive system. CONSTITUTION:When a clutch pedal 5 is depressed under the engine stop condition, an upper switch 6 is turned on with the clutch pedal 5 being slightly depressed, and when said pedal 5 is further depressed a lower switch 7 is turned on. Upon confirmation of these conditions, ECU generates the output of starter start permitting instruction so that a starter 8 is rotatably driven by the operation of a starter relay 9 while a clutch 5 is operated. By adding fail-safe function in the starter start is improved safety in the starter start. |
