PURPOSE:To make it possible to properly grind and improve working efficiency even when a grinding wheel is subjected to wear by providing a limit switch and an operating piece between a feed carriage and a mounting stay projected from a movable frame. CONSTITUTION:A feed carriage 16 is provided with a spring storage section 25 comprising a cylindrically-shaped cavity. A movable frame 26 screwed into a threaded feed shaft 20 is installed in this cavity. A coil spring 27 is provided under compression between the movable frame 26 and the storage 25 so that a compression force may be constantly provided in a retreat direction. A mounting stay 30 installed on the movable frame 26 is vertically erected at the rear side of a finish grinding stone rotating motor M2. A limit switch LS-A' is mounted on the stay 30, and an operating lever 31 is provided to respond to said switch. When a grinding stone G2 is brought into contact with a surface to be machined, the feed carriage 16 stops a foward movement, while the movable frame 26 makes a foward movement and the lever 31 makes a contact with an operating piece 32. Then, the limit switch LS-A' operates and an approaching location on the side of the grinding stone G2 is detected and confirmed. |
