PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of fitting of two magnetic heads for forward and reversing, by polishing a magnetic tape sliding surface of a plurality of adhered magnetic heads at the same time and separating them. CONSTITUTION:Core halves 21 and 22 wound with coils are fitted to a support, one end of the coils is connected to a terminal 23, the core halves 21 and 22 polishing the butted surfaces are butted via a gap forming shim 24 and the result is inserted to a case 25, and then an adhesive is filled in the case 25 to obtain a magnetic head 26. A plurality of the magnetic heads 26 are adhered and the magnetic head sliding surface 26a is polished at the same time to form the sliding surface 26 as a continuous common curved surface. Thus, a magnetic tape is depressed uniformly on the tape sliding surface with a tape pad to prevent the shift in azimuth of the heads, allowing to prevent deterioration of the frequency characteristics at high frequencies and the tape run characteristics such as level fluctuation. |
