An enameled wire is disclosed which comprises an electrical conductor (1), one or more wire enamel coats (2) formed on said conductor and a lubricating wire enamel coat (3) formed on the outermost layer of said wire enamel coat. The lubricating wire enamel coat (3) is formed by applying and baking a wire enamel composition consisting essentially of a resin at least one molecule of which is terminated with a straight alkyl group having 21 or more carbon atoms.
