PURPOSE:To know a decrease in the level of a detector easily by equipping a medium display device which displays the presence of a medium at any one of detectors. CONSTITUTION:Optical sensors A-D are arranged at prescribed positions of the running path in a device for a bankbook 5, and a pilot lamp F is provided in the front surface of a frame 1. When the bankbook 5 is on the front surface of a platen 2, the sensors A-D detect the medium to turn on, and the lamp F turns on. When the bankbook 5 is removed, the lamp F turns off. Decreases in the detection levels of the sensors A-D, however, are the same with the decrease when entering into the sensors A-D. Therefore, if the lamp F is still on even after the bankbook 5 is removed, it is considered that at least one of the sensors A-D breaks down or decreases in detection level. In this case, a user only cleans the sensors A-D at the passing position of the bankbook 5 to restore the device immediately when the cause is the decrease in detection level. |
