PURPOSE:To make a container transferrable between a skid and a fixed stillage, by setting up a container transferring device composed of an expansion boom provided with a projection for engaging with a container on a skid. CONSTITUTION:After unloading a container 9 from a container handling vehicle and transferring it into a skid 1, a motor 5 is driven and the skid 1 is transferred to the position corresponding to a fixed stillage which is prearranged to mount the container. Next, an engaging projection 8 of a container transferring device 6 is fitted to a concavity provided on the bottom of the container 9 and successively an expansion boom available for the container transferring device 6 is stretched out whereby the container 9 is transferred in the way rolling on both the skid 1 and the fixed stillage 11. And, from this condition, the container 9 is coupled with a compactor 14 and is packed with dust. When packing gets through, the expansion boom is restored to its original form, thus the container 9 is transferred to the skid 1 from the fixed stillage 11. |
