Anti-anaphylactic and anti-alergic 5-(2-hydroxy-3-thiopropoxy) chromone-2-carboxylic acids of the general formula wherein R is alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, their alkali and alkaline-earth metal salts and 1-4 C alkyl esters as well as a process for the preparation thereof and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
