PURPOSE:To accurately measure the interfacial level between an aqueous solution phase and an organic solvent phase, by providing a solvent extracting tank and a float floating on the interface between said phases and incorporating a coil into the float. CONSTITUTION:A surface detector consists of a cylindrical measuring pipe 30 vertically fixed on the inside of a solvent extracting tank 1, a detecting part 33 hung in the pipe 30, a supporting pipe 34 supporting the detecting pipe 33, a driving device 42 for driving the supporting pipe 34 through the control using a controller 43, an ammeter 45 for detecting a signal from the detecting part 33, a position indicating device 46 for indicating the position of the interface 9 of liquid, and a float floating on the interface 9 between an aqueous solution phase 8 and an organic solvent phase 7. A float coil 32 made of magnetic metal and a space 50 in which air or gas lighter than air is sealed are incorporated in the float 31, and a hole 51 is formed on the float 31 to reduce the troubles of liquid movement between the aqueous solution phase 8 and solvent phase 7. |
