Appts. for simultaneous filtration and purificn. of blood incorporates a semi-permeable membrane through which water and impurities of moderately high mol. wt. can pass into a chamber filled with activated carbon which removes toxins and produced a purified filtrate which is returned directly to the patient. For use in cases of kidney failure where patient is suffering hypertension and is susceptible to fluid loss.
