<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the whole translation processing by omitting word discrimination to be executed at the time of analyzing a format element in translation processing and translated word determination to be executed at the time of conversion by determining partial translated words at the time of input of an original sentence. CONSTITUTION:An original sentence expressed by KANA (Japanese syllabary) or Roman character is inputted by an original sentence input means 1 and converted into a KANJI (Chinese character) - KANA mixed sentence by a KANJI conversion function included in a translating device body 2. Namely, a certain degree of format element analysis has been already executed in the KANJI conversion function. Then a translation dictionary 3 having correspondence between input words and translated words is retrieved to detect a translated word regarded as a proper word. In the translation processing, the detected word is distinguished from the words of original language in the original sentence and processed as the word whose translated word has been already determined. Thereby, the discrimination of words and the parts of speach in the format element analyzing processing and the determination of translated words in conversion processing can be omitted as to the parts whose translated words have been already determined.</p> |
